Functions Of An Electrician In A Commercial Setting

Every business should have a commercial electrician because there is no business that doesn’t use electricity. Businesses should hire at least one electrician on a full-time basis and also partner with an electrical company for big projects. Here are some of the duties of an electrician in a commercial setting.

Assembling electronics

Businesses buy different types of electronics such as fridges, air conditioners, televisions, computers, electric cookers and water heaters. It is the responsibility of an electronic engineer to assemble and install these appliances.

Maintenance of electronics

An electrician should ensure that all electronics in an organisation are well maintained. He or she should open-air conditioners and clean them. It is the job of an electrician to open computers and blow away the dust that can cause the fan to stop functioning. Commercial electrician in Brisbane should do minor repairs on electronics and inform the management when he or she is unable to repair some appliances.

Wiring

An electrician should do proper wiring on business premises. He should be able to connect wires to circuit breakers, regulators, transformers and other components. He or she should be able to use electrician’s tools such as the tester and determine the wires that have current and those that don’t.
Ensuring all circuits and wires are covered
Naked wires and circuits can be very dangerous. They can cause an electrical shock when touched and they can even lead to greater dangers such as fires when short-circuited. An electrician should ensure all the naked wires are replaced or covered with insulating tapes. Circuits should also be covered for safety purposes.

Advice the management

A commercial electrician should inspect all the electronics and advice the management whether continued use of the appliances can cause problems. He or she should also know whether the electronics are functioning properly or if they are using more power than they should be using and advice the management appropriately.
